COVID-19 Operations Update – Remaining at High-Risk through Winter Break

COVID-19 Operations Update
Remaining at High Risk through Winter Break
12.01.20

Dear Students, Staff, Parents/Guardians and Community Members,

First, we hope that you were able to enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving despite the uncertainties and unique environment impacting everyone.

Next, following our discussion with BBAHC yesterday, the district will remain at the “High-Risk” operations category that we are currently utilizing through Winter Break.

The district will meet with BBAHC on January 11th, to review the “Risk-Level,” and to make a determination on what the start of school will look like for students beginning January 18th. Once a determination is made, the district will share that information immediately.

January 18th will be the start of the second semester.

In closing, please know that we are extremely hopeful to be able to open our doors once again in January, that we miss having the students fill our halls each day and that we wish everyone an extremely joyful upcoming holiday season.

Sincerely,
Jason R. Johnson, Ed.D.

High Risk Designation and Updated Operations Notice 11/12/2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Earlier this afternoon on November 12, 2020, we were notified by the BBAHC that the district is now being designated as High-Risk due to elevated cases in the city and region.

In accordance with our COVID-19 operating plan, the district will shift to on-line and virtual education immediately.

To support this transition, the school will be closed on Friday, November 13th and move to the on-line format next week, beginning Monday, November 16th.

Please know that no cases have been identified within the school and that more information will be provided in the upcoming hours and days to support this change.

In closing, we appreciate your support throughout these unique times and recognize and respect the different impacts that this is having our your children and students.

Sincerely,

Jason Johnson
Superintendent
Dillingham City School District
