COVID-19 Operations Update
Remaining at High Risk through Winter Break
Dear Students, Staff, Parents/Guardians and Community Members,
First, we hope that you were able to enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving despite the uncertainties and unique environment impacting everyone.
Next, following our discussion with BBAHC yesterday, the district will remain at the “High-Risk” operations category that we are currently utilizing through Winter Break.
The district will meet with BBAHC on January 11th, to review the “Risk-Level,” and to make a determination on what the start of school will look like for students beginning January 18th. Once a determination is made, the district will share that information immediately.
January 18th will be the start of the second semester.
In closing, please know that we are extremely hopeful to be able to open our doors once again in January, that we miss having the students fill our halls each day and that we wish everyone an extremely joyful upcoming holiday season.
Jason R. Johnson, Ed.D.
In our efforts to continue supporting each of you at the highest level during these difficult times, we want you to know that we are here for you. We will continue to make the best of this situation for you and your child(ren).
As such, please know that the DCSD will begin meal delivery service starting on Wednesday, November 18, 2020.
As you’ve heard, we will be operating at the high-risk level of our COVID-19 operations plan for the foreseeable future. We look forward to being able to have students back in the building at some point, but we also want you to know that we have tirelessly prepared for this possibility since schools were closed for the first time back in March.
