Superintendent Bio

I am looking forward to getting to know each of you and thought you might like to know a bit more about me.  I am married and have three kids.   My wife was a Special Ed. Aide for 15 years, our oldest son attends college in Reno, NV; our middle son is a middle school English/ELL reading teacher in Phoenix, AZ; and our youngest daughter recently graduated from law school and is studying to take the Oregon bar exam.  My three favorite pastimes are fishing, golfing, and bowling.  My wife and I enjoy playing cards and are looking for Pinochle players to play with.  I am a big sports fan and particularly like football, wrestling and basketball.  I have two grandsons: Sean age 4 and Finnegan age 6 months, and two granddaughters: Ivy Quinn, age 2 and Olivia age 6 months. My wife and I grew up in Butte, Montana and after college spend most of our adult life in Elko, Nevada

Professionally I have been a teacher, athletic director, assistant principal, principal, and district director of instruction.  My last position was Principal of James T. Hutchison High School in Fairbanks, Alaska.  I have been fortunate to have received many awards in my career and two that I am most proud of are Alaska Region VI Principal of the Year 2007 and Nevada Vocational Educator of the Year 2003.

I encourage you to contact me

and share your thoughts and perspectives on topics you feel are important for our district to begin or continue partnering on to make improvements in the school.  I hope all of you had a great summer and were able to fit in some fun and sun.

Improvement Leads to Excellence,
