Alternative Education

The Dillingham City School District currently has two alternative education programs. The Maximum Achievement Program is a program geared for high school students while the Correspondence Program is available for all grade levels. Information about both are as follows.
 
The Maximum Achievement Program (MAP) stresses academic, social, and career/technical skills. The MAP teachers teach a balance of each, giving the student a fresh start towards his/her future. Students in the MAP Program are committed the following opportunites that MAP has to offer:
 
* Receiving a high school diploma

* Passing the Alaska High School Graduation Qualifying Exam (HSGQE)

* Career/technical guidence and job training

* Getting dual credit from the University of Alaska (Bristol Bay Campus)

* Help with planning your future

* Earn a CDA or an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education
 
While MAP is organized to accommodate individual needs, students will be working in a more "one on one" envornment with a strng focus on career/technical skills to meet those needs.
